CAPESTHORNE GARDEN PARTY FOR CHELFORD GUIDERS

Three Chelford Guiders were among several hundred who attended a special garden party at Capesthorne Hall to celebrate 100 years of GirlGuiding.

Brownie Guiders Alison Richardson, Sue Roycroft and Chris Sullivan attended the afternoon event, which was organised by Cheshire Border as an opportunity for Guiding Leaders from around the county to get together and commemorate the Centenary. A range of other events has already been organised for children, including 'Brownies Take Over Tatton' on July 17th and a promise-renewing/end of Centenary year event at Macclesfield Rugby Club in October.

Guests at the garden party were serenaded by a fantastic brass band from Altrincham Boys Grammar School and entertained by Alderley Scouts Marching Band. Displays included Guiding memorabilia and the chance for Guiders to record personal memories of Guiding over the years. A tour of Capesthorne Hall was included in the afternoon.
