Shak's Tracks

Here are some local and not so local runs and walks you can try out.

We’re very fortunate to live where we do, in Chelford. We’re surrounded by beautiful countryside which is criss-crossed by many footpaths, bridleways and some tricky minor roads.

The best way to find out about how our landscape came to be and to understand how it is changing is to get out there and see it for ourselves.

The routes you'll see listed below are all easily accessible from our village and you can get around them as quickly or as slowly you wish. The important thing is to just cross the threshold and get going.

These are mostly circular routes based on the sound premise that if we don’t get back to the start, our next of kin will send out the dogs to look for us. Hop on the circuit at the nearest, most convenient point.

There are a few rules to follow:
Although the paths are rights of way, they are also a privilege. Be good.
If you’re new to running, take it easy. It’s fine to walk for a bit or a lot if you like. If you’re an experienced runner, you know what to do to make any run harder.
Enjoy yourself and your surroundings.
